Jonathan Sage is a freelance clarinettist based in York. As concerto soloist, he has appeared with the London Mozart Players, Dartington Festival Orchestra, Ergodos Orchestra, YMS Orchestra, Milne Graden Chamber Orchestra and the Scarborough Symphony Orchestra.
He has given recitals throughout Europe, performing at festivals/events including Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Late Music Festival (York), Sampler Festival (London), LEAP (Berlin), Off-Grid Festival (Dublin), Dartington International Festival, Kaleidoscope (Dublin). In 2008, he toured Ireland with a programme of solo contemporary clarinet music, also including lecture-recitals at Trinity College Dublin and Dundalk Institute of Technology.
As a chamber musician, Jonathan performs regularly with the Ergodos Musicians – with whom he has recorded extensively and performed in Europe and the USA – and the Bewegung Ensemble. As an orchestral musician, he has guested with the London Mozart Players, New Mozart Orchestra and I Maestri.
Jonathan has recorded for Audiobulb, UYMP and Ergodos Records. His version of Steve Reich’s New York Counterpoint is available for download, and his first solo album is set to be released in the summer of 2013.
